At a glance
Start with the connection between the quoted product, its format and the batch on the certificate of analysis (COA). Check the document source, report identifier, date, test scope and reported results. Resolve missing or inconsistent information with the supplier before treating the file as evidence for the offered batch.
| Document | What to establish | What still needs confirmation |
|---|---|---|
| Supplier COA | Who issued it and which product and batch it names. | Whether it corresponds to the batch being offered. |
| Historical reference | Which past product or batch the file illustrates. | Current availability and the record for the current batch. |
| Order-specific independent report | The laboratory, sample handover and agreed test scope. | The connection between the submitted sample and the supplied batch. |
Match the record to the quotation
Read the product identifier and batch reference together. Similar names, a reused file name or a certificate shown beside a catalogue image do not establish that a file belongs to the offered batch. Ask the supplier to identify the connection explicitly.
- Quoted product, SKU and format.
- Batch reference and document identifier.
- Issuer, report date and document status.
- Agreed tests, reported results and any missing attachments.
Ask precise questions about missing information
Ask for the method and result for each test your procurement team requires. A result listed for one test does not answer every possible quality question. If your review needs additional evidence, request it by name and have the supplier confirm whether it is available or needs a separate testing arrangement.
Avoid inferring a batch result from a catalogue purity statement or from a public scientific database. Those are different sources serving different purposes.
Use BatchTide records and testing requests
The COA library provides verification-code lookup and product-level document requests. Use the code issued for your record, or add the current-batch document request to your enquiry. The product catalogue itself does not confirm current batch availability.
For an independent testing request, describe the tests you need and agree on sampling, sealing, handover and reporting. Keep the resulting document connected to the relevant order and batch. These guides concern research procurement and do not establish suitability for human or veterinary use.
Questions before you enquire
Can a historical COA confirm the batch I will receive?
A historical file describes its named batch. Ask for confirmation of the offered batch and the corresponding record before using it for a current order decision.
What should I send when a verification code does not open a report?
Contact BatchTide with the product and order reference through the established support channel. Ask the team to check the record status and provide the appropriate document or next step.
A brief you can use
Use these headings to organize your request, then add the information you have to the enquiry page.
Product / SKU / format: Quoted batch reference, if available: Document type received: Report identifier and date: Missing fields or test requirements: Independent testing requested, if any:
These notes describe procurement checks and BatchTide service workflows. Product availability, batch results, prices and delivery terms are confirmed for the individual quotation. For laboratory research use only.
